First diary post

The site hasn’t been updated since before Christmas. Very Remiss!

Nothing to report for today, but yesterday Stephenie and I went into Leicester to a flooring shop to check out carpets, luxury vinyl tiles (LVT) and engineered wood flooring. We are awaiting a quote for under-floor heating – if it is affordable we will have it installed – supplying the hot water for it from an air source heat pump. It seems we can’t make up our mind on how to heat the house! – what we do know now after using electric radiators for a while now is that they are very expensive to run. Better to get things right now rather than decide to retro-fit a different heating system later.

If we do go for under-floor heating we need to make sure the flooring choices are compatible. Carpets + underlay must be below 2.5 tog rating at the most. LVT and engineered oak flooring are both compatible with UF heating.
